God's Word Is Near!

July 30, 2026

Scripture

“For this commandment which I command thee this day, it is not hidden from thee, neither is it far off. It is not in heaven, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go up for us to heaven, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it? Neither is it beyond the sea, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go over the sea for us, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it? But the word is very nigh unto thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart, that thou mayest do it.”

— Deuteronomy 30:11-14

Today's Word: Family, hear me clearly: God’s Word is not some ancient, dusty scroll locked away in a vault, requiring a perilous expedition to uncover. Moses declared, "this commandment… is not hidden from thee, neither is it far off." Hear me when I say, the pathway to divine wisdom and obedient living is not a treasure hunt requiring a map of distant lands or a climb into unreachable heavens. Some folks are looking for answers in the wrong places, seeking validation from the world, or chasing after ephemeral trends. But the truth is, God’s provision for your life, His will for your character, and the power to live it out are not beyond your grasp.

This is not a suggestion; it is a Kingdom reality. The living Word, Jesus Christ, has already walked the heavens and crossed the seas for us. He is our ultimate fulfillment of this promise. And more, the indwelling Holy Spirit is the power that writes God’s law on your heart, making His Word accessible for you to do. Your formation into Christ-likeness is not an impossible task. It is a present reality, empowered by the Spirit. Are you treating God's Word as something distant and difficult, or are you embracing its nearness for transformation? Get this deep into your spirit: The capacity for righteous living is not an aspiration; it is a divine deposit within you, waiting for your obedience to activate it.

Reflection: Are you treating God's Word as something distant and difficult, or are you embracing its nearness for transformation?

Prayer For Today: Father, thank You for the profound accessibility of Your Word, fulfilled in Christ and empowered by Your Spirit. Forgive us for ever seeking Your will in distant places instead of embracing its nearness. Grant us the courage and discipline to engage Your Word daily, allowing it to shape our thoughts, our words, and our actions. Develop in us a mature faith that lives out Your commands with willing hearts and obedient hands. Amen.
